Filling Technician
Primary Purpose
The primary purpose of this position is as follows:
Produces labeled containers and packages finished material by filling proper containers in preparation for storage in the warehouse or shipment to a customer
General Responsibilities
- Follows company regulations with respect to safety, quality, maintenance, and repair of tools and equipment, and housekeeping
- Keeps department records as required
- Uses materials, equipment, and facilities in an efficient and conscientious manner
- Works assigned hours and overtime as required
- Suggests to department Lead Person or Supervisor improvements in job methods, equipment, and procedures
Duties and Responsibilities
- Provides containers as needed for the storage area
- Checks containers to be filled for cleanliness and prepares other containers for filling
- Sets up pump and filters as required
- Fills containers by weight as instructed on the Batch-ticket
- Operates, assembles, disassembles, and cleans pump filter, filling machines and tanks
- Palletizes all filled materials for forklift handling
- Takes retains as instructed and identifies them
- Washes equipment, tanks, and other machinery within the department
- Keeps working area clean and neat
- Ensures all labor hours and filling records are properly documented
- Follows HMIS Safety Program
- Performs other duties as assigned by the Lead Person or Supervisor
Essential Functions
- Continuous standing or walking for six (6) hours per day
- Frequent lifting, pushing, or pulling up to 100 pounds of weight
- Frequent bending, twisting, stooping, and repetitive motion
- Enduring temperatures up to 105 F. during summer months
- Occasional requirement to utilize half-face respirator
- Occasional operation of forklift and drum dolly equipment
- Reading and writing on batch-tickets

Education and Training
- High School Diploma or GED
- Safety procedures, PSM and regulatory requirements
- Performance and attendance expectations
- GGOB Participation
- How to print labels
- How to read a filling batch ticket
- How to properly stack product
- Cleanliness and presentation of final package
- How to complete paperwork
- How to set up equipment
- How to verify work
Hazardous, Safety, and Environmental Factors
All associates will receive an extensive level of training in hazardous and safety precautions and procedures as described
Qualifications
Required:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Basic reading, writing, and math skills
- Willingness to wear PPE (like a respirator) and use equipment like drum dollies and forklifts (we’ll train you!)
Nice to Have:
- Prior manufacturing or filling experience
- Familiarity with batch tickets or labeling systems
- Experience working with industrial coatings or paint
