Primary Purpose
To perform preventative maintenance on equipment and associated facilities maintenance, to assure the production operation runs efficiently and effectively.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Performs general maintenance on the facility and equipment, including carpentry, pipe-fitting, plumbing, electrical and mechanical repairs and installations. Builds and/or remodels facilities as needed.
- Performs troubleshooting and diagnostics on equipment that is down or underperforming to arrive at a timely solution for repair.
- Supports the Information Services Department in running computer cables throughout the facilities.
- Conducts routine inspections on emergency shower/eye wash stations, emergency lighting and lifting devices.
- Assists outside contractors with the inspection and calibration of the scales and meters in Manufacturing quarterly.
- Must follow all company regulations, safety rules and procedures to include Lock-Out/Tag-Out, Hot Work Permits, Confined Space Entry, etc.
- Uses materials, equipment and facilities in an efficient and conscientious manner according to proper procedures.
- Works assigned hours and overtime as required.
- Suggests to Shift Lead Person improvements in safety, job methods, equipment or procedures.
- Follows GHS. and PPE Safety Program.
- Performs other duties as required by the Maintenance Supervisor.
- Responsible for maintaining company tools.
Essential Functions
- Continuous standing or walking for six (6) hours per day.
- Frequent, lifting, pushing or pulling up to 100 pounds of weight.
- Frequent bending, twisting, stooping and repetitive motion.
- Regularly required to use hands to finger, handle or feel and reach with hands and arms.
- Enduring temperatures up to 105 F. during summer months.
- Occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals and outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
- Occasional requirement to utilize half-face respirator.
- Occasional operation of forklift and drum dolly equipment.

Qualifications
The following experience is required for successfully performing this job.
- Ability to apply and to carry out detailed, but uninvolved, written or oral instructions, and deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
- Must be able to work well with others and perform whatever tasks are necessary to get the job accomplished.
- Must be self-motivated with the ability to work without direct supervision.
Education and Training
Listed below are mandatory and desired educational requirements for this position.
- High School Diploma or GED
- HVAC or the ability to be certified within 12 months of hire.
- Two years experience in industrial maintenance or similar job preferred
