The City of Red Lake Falls had a design contest for residents of the City to provide ideas for re-painting their water tower and the final design. The City received a lot of interest in the design of the tower and chose this design from numerous submitted designs. The coating design for the tower correlates to the City being situated at the intersection of the Red Lake River and the Clearwater River.
