This is one of two elevated storage tanks recoated by the city of Portsmouth in 2024. Both tanks had been taken off-line due to corrosion issues, but renewed focus on their town due to a visit from Missy Elliott — a popular hip-hop artist who grew up in Portsmouth — had residents calling for the tanks to look their best. Funding was secured and local paint company Manolis got to work. Minoan fully contained and blasted both tanks to bare metal and utilized Tnemec's premier interior/exterior coatings systems to bring these tanks back to life.
