While some towns might be uneasy having Honest Abe looking over their shoulder all the time, the city of Lincoln, Ill., welcomes his face in the sky. The realist depiction of young Abraham Lincoln on their elevated water tank reminds locals of the important role the American icon had in the founding of the city itself – back when he was just a local lawyer, before he was president (and before he grew his renowned beard). The black and white logo on Illinois-American’s water tank was recreated in painstaking detail on the tall tower using Tnemec’s UV-resistant topcoat, HydroFlon, which will help keep Abe’s face, the town logo and the water utility company’s logo shining bright above everyone in town.
