Series N246

Ultra-Tread Glaze

Generic Type

Modified Polyurethane

Common Usage

Ultra-Tread Glaze is a pigmented, high-build, low-odor polyurethane coating. It is typically used as a topcoat for sealing or locking aggregate in Series N242 Ultra-Tread S or Series N244 Ultra-Tread M broadcast texture finishes. Series N246 is designed for use in food and beverage facilities, pharmaceutical and processing areas, commercial and restaurant kitchens, or other areas where a durable floor topping is required. It provides excellent chemical resistance and withstands thermal shock resulting from hot liquids and aggressive cleaning procedures. Areas may be returned to service within hours of installation, depending on temperature and humidity.

Series N246 may also be used as a primer for Series N242 systems or as a thinner-film option when moisture vapor transmission (MVT) protection is required. Note: Series N246 must be broadcast to refusal with an approved aggregate.

Special Qualifications

Series N246 is formulated using a Phthalate and Phenol Free Bio-Based Environmentally Friendly Polyol. It meets requirements for use in USDA and FDA-regulated facilities. The factory treated coating contains an antimicrobial agent to prevent microorganisms from degrading the coating film and guards against the growth of bacteria and their odors. The product does not protect users or others against food borne or airborne bacteria. Contact your Tnemec representative for specific test results.

Series N246 was tested in accordance with, and passed, the California Dept. of Public Health (CDPH) Standard Method v1.2 and meets the requirements of LEED v4.1 Low-Emitting Materials, Collaborative for High Performance Schools-Paints & Coatings, Living Building Challenge Materials Petal 10, and WELL Building Standard v2 X06 VOC Restrictions.
