Standing tall in the heart of Fargo, the new Downtown Water Tower doesn’t just replace three aging multi-leg tanks—it redefines the skyline. At 2.5 million gallons, it’s the largest elevated water storage facility in North Dakota, and with its central location, it was the perfect canvas for Fargo’s first public art installation.
The City invited the community to help shape the design, bringing together residents, businesses, universities, and staff to capture Fargo’s spirit. The finished mural tells a story of place: the winding Red River of the North, the city’s skyline, favorite outdoor activities, and local symbols woven together into one bold, colorful landmark.
What once was simply water storage has become something much bigger—a vibrant celebration of Fargo life that will stand proud for decades to come.
